Good to know

This 500 square foot studio apartment was fully renovated in February of 2017. It is "garden level" (just three steps below grade with full size egress windows) in a property with two other apartments (also available on Airbnb) on Water Street in Downtown Mystic with a view of the Mystic River right out the front window! The studio features modern furnishings and appliances, dimmable recessed lighting, polished concrete floors, a massive 4K flat-screen TV, wall-mounted LG heater / air conditioner, one queen-sized memory foam bed and a sleeper-sofa which converts into an oversized twin bed. The kitchenette features a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave along with all of the necessary dishes, glassware and utensils you will need. The kitchenette is also appointed with counter top appliances such as a convection toaster oven, electric kettle and electric skillet in lieu of a full-size range. Clean linens and towels, coffee, tea, soap, shampoo and paper products are provided to all guests.

Other Details to Note

Based on years of feedback, most guests love the studio’s walkable downtown location, cozy setup, and spotless condition. Just a couple of notes so there are no surprises: - It’s a garden level studio (3 steps down from street level) with lower door height and 7.5 ft ceiling height (vs standard 8 ft) so it can feel a little more compact than an upper-story apartment. - As with many lower level spaces, humidity or light basement smell is possible from time to time so the space features a dehumidifier and HEPA air filter. This should only be of concern to guests with heightened sensitivities to these things. - Some guests have mentioned occasional footstep noise from upstairs or street noise from outside but it's very rare. Overall, our reviews consistently highlight the excellent location, comfort, and our quick communication, with these quirks very rarely mentioned.

Water Street is just off West Main Street, the main corridor passing through Downtown Mystic over the historic bascule bridge. In addition to stunning views of the Mystic River, Water Street features some of Mystic's most popular restaurant destinations including The Oyster Club (and the Tree House at The Oyster Club), Captain Daniel Packer Inne, Pizetta pizza, Margarita's Mexican Restaurant, Friar Tuck's Tavern, Rise breakfast restaurant, and award winning Sift Bake Shop. You'll be able to enjoy all of these downtown destinations on foot without the need for a car to get around!

I wish I could rate more than 5 stars! Kevin was incredibly helpful, communicative, and kind. He provided clear instructions and recommendations for the area. The Airbnb was perfectly located–we hardly needed our car for the whole trip. My partner and I needed a nice relaxing get away where we could turn our brains off and staying here made that super possible. Can’t wait to return and book another stay with Kevin!

Kevin is a terrific Super Host and his property is located in a perfect location in downtown Mystic! I could literally walk anywhere and everywhere. Come back and sleep in a cozy bed. It was great getting to do laundry as well. I loved it! Mystic, CT is one the prettiest, coolest, charming, fun, and peaceful towns I have visited. Bonus points for visiting in the Fall with the beautiful fall foliage. My favorite places I walked to visit, eat; drink: The Bridge (goes up to let ships pass. So cool!) Seaport Museum Docks Stores on the main st. (mystic discs music store was so cool) Restaurants and bars: Oyster Club The Port of Call Dive Shipwrights Daughter Mystic Pizza S&P oyster bar and restaurant (not a chain) Sift Bakery Harp and Hound (karaoke on Sunday) I made so many friends and can’t wait to visit again! The perfect location and walkable to downtown Mystic. Comfortable and clean, very clear and easy directions to check in and park. Host was responsive when we had a question about the air. Bed was very comfortable, too! Would stay again!

This was our first Airbnb rental and it was a great experience. Location was fantastic for walking to the shops and restaurants in Mystic. Only one hiccup with the hvac unit, but Kevin responded quickly and all was fixed. We ran into the Kevin the following morning and he checked to make sure that everything was good. We would definitely recommend Kevin and this property.

One off-street parking pass for the parking lot directly across the street is provided with this rental. Additional off-street parking is available out front and along the surrounding side streets. The Mystic Amtrak station is 0.7 miles away which is about a 15 minute walk or 3 minute cab ride. Uber and Lyft are readily available in the area.
