There is a public boat launch less than a minute's walk from the front door and transient dockage at Downtown Mystic Marina directly across the street . Mystic is a unique New England village straddling the Mystic River. The portion of the village on the right (west) bank was originally known as Mystic River and is part of the town of Groton CT. The left bank was originally known as Mystic Bridge and is a part of the town of Stonington CT. Downtown Mystic River is comprised of Water Street, West Main Street, Pearl Street and Gravel Street. East Main Street, Holmes Street and Cottrell Street make up the Mystic Bridge side of the village. Walking is the best way to get around downtown and all of downtown is within easy walking distance from our home. In season, day and dinner cruises aboard the Argia sailing ship along the river and around Fishers Island Sound are sure to make your Mystic visit a most memorable experience. Whether you prefer walking, biking, water taxi or shuttle, you are only minutes away from restaurants, shopping, multi-denominational houses of worship, Mystic Seaport Museum and Mystic Aquarium. It is a short drive to the historic fishing village of Stonington Borough home to Capt. Palmer discoverer of Antarctica, Fort Griswold Revolutionary War battle site on the Groton Bank, Fort Trumbull that fell to an assault instigated by Benedict Arnold, Submarine Museum home of the USS Nautilus, the first nuclear powered submarine and first submarine to navigate beneath the North Pole, Bluff Point State Park, Haley Farm State park, Barn Island Wildlife Preserve, Watch Hill RI and some of the best ocean beaches on the Atlantic coast. And yes, it is but a short drive to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos. Our property is a short 5-minute drive from I-95 Exit 89. The route through downtown from Exit 90 will take a bit longer but is probably worth the extra time for a first time visitors eager to take a driving tour through our little village. T.F. Green International (Providence/Warwick RI) is about a 45-minute drive; Bradley International Airport (Hartford/Springfield) is approximately a 1hr 20m drive; Logan International (Boston) is only a 2hr drive. If you're coming by train to New London you'll have a 15-minute drive; By train to Westerly RI it's about a 25-minute drive; If you take the train to Mystic Depot you'll have a 10-minute walk from the depot to the property but it will undoubtedly take a bit longer as you take in the sites of this historic village.

The host was always on top of everything, proactively reaching out with notes and instructions. They were certainly one of the top hosts that I've ever had on this platform so far. The house was cozy and cute. It being an old house, full of furniture and other items that hint the history of lived experiences, the stay was uniquely beautiful. While nothing was "brand new" and "flawlessly mint" as in newly built houses, the small imperfections and little quirks made the stay more lovely and authentically enjoyable. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The view of river from the house was impeccable, and many great restaurants and other shops was within walking distance. The streets are totally walkable and felt very cute. We might come back for another family vacation.
